How Do I Paint Hardboard?Updated 2 years ago
Hardboard, a heavy type of fiberboard made from mechanical pulp, graces homes in the form of siding and, more recently, as artists' canvas. Hardboard comes in various finishes, thicknesses, and types to mimic coarse chipboard, plywood, or real wood. Preparation for painting depends on the use of the hardboard. Hardboard siding almost always comes pre-primed to protect it during shipment. Cut edges, factory-primed and non-primed boards require priming before painting.
