How Do I Paint Exterior Alloy?Updated 2 years ago

Wash down with Tikkurila roof cleaning agent. Alloys generally have a covering of oil from manufacturing which needs to be removed. Even after exposure to the elements, the oils can persist. It is essential to remove these oils to ensure primers and topcoats adhere correctly.

All surfaces must be dry and roughened to form a key prior to priming. The temperature of the ambient air, surface, or paint should not fall below +5ºC during application or drying. The surface temperature should remain at least 3°C above the dew point.

If previously painted, remove any loose and flaking coatings and feather off any edges.

Good ventilation and sufficient air movement are required in confined areas during application and drying.

Apply basecoat of Rostex Super Akva or Temaprime EE

Suitable topcoats include Unica Akva, Unica Semi-Gloss Enamel or Panssari Akva
